Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management or related field or Associate of Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology with a minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • Minimum of 5-7 years with at least 3 years of demonstrated record of progressive responsibility
Responsibilities
  • Serves as Chairman of the Department Quality Management Committee and is responsible for the timely publication of minutes, follow-up for the issues raised in the Committee, and liaison between Department Administration and the Quality Management Committee
  • Acts as a liaison between the Department and Quality Management Department, Risk Management, and the Patient Grievance Committee for all quality issues relating to the Department
  • Designs and performs quality management audits and concurrent reviews which monitor all aspects of the quality of patient care and quality of Radiologic service; Maintains appropriate records of quality management activities
  • Collaborates with the Radiation Safety office in the oversight of quality control tests to meet all New York State Health Department requirements
  • Responsible for employee evaluations and time cards; mediates scheduling, morale, procedure and policies; unresolved problems discussed with the Director
  • Responsible for scheduling of personnel to achieve maximum services with the Section
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring all employees under supervision
  • Responsible for preparation and review of employees' performance assessments
  • Authorizes overtime and compensatory time as appropriate
  • Oversees the review of all departmental incidents and coordinates appropriate follow-up actions as part of the Quality Management Committee effort
  • Participates in departmental planning, special projects, special committees, etc., as requested by the Director
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the assigned unit, including life-span growth and development considerations; interpret data to identify age-specific needs and provide care per unit/department policies
  • Responsible for learning and practicing quality improvement and staff empowerment techniques
  • Represents Imaging Department as a member of Department Quality Improvement Teams across the Institution, e.g., Surgical Intensive Care Unit QIT and Orthopedic QIT
  • Oversees ACR compliance
  • Ensures Kronos policies are implemented and followed in Department by weekly monitoring and timely submission of payroll documentation
  • Engages staff in quality processes
  • Meets with physician leaders to assure clinical quality expectations are met or exceeded
Desired Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience in Radiology and/or Quality Management is highly desirable
