Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three or more years of experience in the wind industry, including a minimum of two years of managerial experience.
  • A valid non-commercial driver's license or commercial driver's license.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision given proper instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for work in close confines.
  • Ability to free climb 300 feet multiple times a day while wearing more than 25 pounds of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to rescue a teammate anywhere in a tower during an emergency.
  • Employees climbing wind turbines must use a Personal Fall Arrest System and must not exceed the system's maximum weight capacity of 309 pounds, including the individual, tools, uniform, and personal protective equipment; personal body weight must not exceed 260 pounds based on the equipment weight.
Responsibilities
  • Direct all wind farm operations at the site for maintenance and repair, focusing on customer relations, performance, and profitability.
  • Recognize wind turbine error codes and report problems appropriately to engineering colleagues.
  • Manage timely financial reporting, maintenance and repair, and turbine availability.
  • Direct the site team's performance within the assigned contractual scope.
  • Develop site personnel and subordinates and ensure a high capture rate on out-of-scope service opportunities.
  • Work with engineering to develop strategies for improved maintenance, diagnostics, and operation to provide additional customer value and reduce service costs.
  • Work with internal team members to develop and implement operational feedback for configuration, planned and unplanned maintenance, and financials.
  • Own the financial performance of the project, including profit and loss.
  • Write and complete routine reports, correspondence, and relevant paperwork, including service orders, checklists, and AWPs.
  • Serve as the direct line manager for all site personnel.
