Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade or a related field (could be substituted for 10+ years of experience within international trade compliance)
  • 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or a related field within a global manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of global trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, FTA and OFAC requirements
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and interpret trade regulations, including those from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other global agencies
  • Manage and maintain HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications and ECCN (Export Control Classification Numbers) assignments for our products
  • Oversee customs clearance processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of documentation
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party logistics providers to resolve shipment issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Stay updated on changes to trade laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Supply Chain, Finance and Legal to ensure alignment on compliance initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure shipments containing hazardous goods (specifically lithium-ion batteries) are classified, labeled and documented in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and International Air Transportation Association (IATA)
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred: Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Customs Broker License (CBL)
  • Demonstrates tenacity, adaptability, and the ability to take on diverse responsibilities across multiple roles.
