About the role:

Are you ready to work on critical technology that powers the UK’s submarines?

We are seeking talented Engineers to design and develop Platform Management Systems (PMS) for the UK’s fleet of nuclear-powered submarines.

In this role, you will design, integrate, and upgrade PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks, ensuring these systems meet the demanding requirements of operational reliability, security, and performance in mission-critical environments.

As well as configuring and maintaining existing systems, you’ll play a key role in designing the next generation of PMS, ensuring they are future-proof and meet evolving operational demands. You will work with cutting-edge industrial control technologies and communicate with key stakeholders ensuring the system remains secure and adaptable over the lifetime of the submarines.

Role responsibilities:

As a Graduate Control Systems Engineer, you’ll have the chance to use cutting-edge tech and innovation as you support strategically important national defence programmes. You will: Different font size below..

• Capture, interpret and develop customer requirements
• Produce technical documentation in accordance with company and customer procedures
• Specify, design and test solutions for PLC and SCADA control systems
• Develop PLC and SCADA code from multiple design formats such as block diagrams, flow charts or pseudo code
• Validate software designs through analysis and test

We are looking for:

• An Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a suitable discipline, such as Electronics or Systems Engineering.
• Experience or knowledge of software development lifecycles, processes and procedures
• An understanding of Systems Engineering’s approach to software development
• A talent for problem-solving and developing solutions to a variety of issues
