HCVT operates under a hybrid working model. Effective Jan 1, 2024, employees are expected to work at their assigned office a minimum of two days per week. In the event that this is not geographically reasonable, you may work in the office closest to your home. Additionally, we expect employees to participate in required firm events/meeting (e.g., trainings, team bonding, client meetings, etc.)
As a Manager in our Tax service line, you will be responsible for the following:
- Provide high-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for exempt organizations
- Build technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities, and applies them to client situations
- Develop and maintain strong client relationship with key stakeholders and prospective clients
- Work closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and tax planning
- Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines
- Provide job status updates to partners and client personnel in a timely manner
- Work closely with and provide a leadership role to office staff and seniors
- Oversee planning and scheduling of client engagements
- Supervise expectations of engagement teams, project manager and maintain due dates
- Develop Seniors and Staff to help them grow professionally
- Research technical and complex tax issues
- Manage, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Seniors and Staff
- Provide formal and informal feedback
- Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software
- Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients
- Attend networking events and participate in staff and senior level trainings, recruiting events and firm activities
- Ensure high quality of work product
To be successful, these are the skills, qualities and experience you will need:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting; Master’s in Tax a plus
- CPA certificate
- Minimum 5 years of tax experience required with a strong technical background in exempt organizations
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Excellent written, oral communication and documentation skills
- Ability to articulate complex tax matters in "business" language
- Ability to integrate and team with others
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced and complex environment
- Strong team player with emphasis on the continued growth and development of team members
- Excellent analytical skills and judgement

This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set and education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000.
