The Opportunity

As the Head of Product Design you will partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and User Research to plan and build innovative and delightful experiences for our end-users and partners. Responsible for building an inclusive team of driven and inspiring designers who you will actively mentor, challenge, and grow. Drive the design vision and strategy for Incode’s mobile as well as web-based products.  

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in product design. Will be comfortable collaborating with both creative and technical teams. This role is responsible for working with teams to iterate quickly on product experiments and pilots and should be well versed in using data to help their teams identify opportunities for UX/UI improvements. The head of product design should be passionate about leading and coaching designers and growing individual contributors. Additionally, this leader will build out a growing team. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of designers to develop world-class product design solutions that meet customer needs and business goals.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, create design briefs, and ensure that design solutions align with product strategy.
• Drive the development of design concepts, prototypes, and final design deliverables, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, usability, and accessibility.
• Conduct user research and testing to inform design decisions and iterate on design solutions based on feedback.
• Foster a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring that the design team is always learning, experimenting, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute on the overall design strategy, ensuring that it aligns with business goals and customer needs.
• Manage the design team’s budget, resources, and timelines, ensuring that they are allocated effectively and efficiently.
• Own feature designs that create engaging and immersive mobile experiences across multiple device types on iOS & Android
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into design solutions where appropriate.
• Design & ship an insanely great product

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with a track record of designing successful, user-centered products across multiple platforms and devices.
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of designers.
• Strong portfolio of design work that demonstrates exceptional design thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles, methodologies, and tools, and a passion for creating products that are accessible, usable, and delightful.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate design decisions to stakeholders.
• Experience with design software such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma
• Be a good co-worker and colleague that believes in collaboration and is open to others’ points of view
• Highly motivated, fast learner, capable of multitasking, and resourceful
