Role SummaryTerm: January 13-August 17, 2025, 7-month co-op.
We are looking for talented, forward-thinking control/electrical engineers to join us in developing critical standards, specifications, and procedures for internally built equipment and vendors designing manufacturing equipment for Rivian. Your work will have a significant impact, as you will be building libraries of system templates that will be used as the building blocks for Rivian manufacturing equipment across the entire company.
Responsibilities- Creating software solutions to automate various steps in the development process, such as tools for auto-generating electrical schematics.
- Create Standard operating procedures for internally developed tools and standards and aid in the role of our tools on projects.
- Aid in the continuous development of our EPLAN Electrical Development Platform.
- Architect standard electrical/fluid solutions for industrial automation systems such as robotics, transportation, power distribution, safety, vision, dispensing, welding, and fastening.
- Validating internally developed standards and tools on production-representative lab equipment and virtual simulations.
- Aid in the software architecture for Machine Vision systems.
- Use Git for version control in a collaborative environment.
- Participate in code reviews, demonstrating good coding practices, and maintaining code quality.
Qualifications- Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree
- Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, AI, Machine Learning or similar.
- Must have experience in C#
- Experience with Python and React, highly preferred.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
- Must have experience with Docker or other container technologies
- Exposure to EPLAN, a plus.
- Demonstrated to problem solve with programming, a plus.
- Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours a week minimum. Overtime eligible for this role.
- Must be willing to relocate to Normal, IL to work onsite at our Manufacturing facility.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.
Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
