Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in mechanical engineering, or a related relevant field.
  • Three to six years of test or validation experience related to grommets, terminals, connectors, harness and low voltage components (Fusebox, Battery, Battery sensor, etc) including signal integrity.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Polarion or equivalent.
  • Experience with a wide variety of lab and measurement equipment including data acquisition systems (DAQ), power supply or electronic load, oscilloscope, accelerometers, thermocouples, CAN, LIN, and automotive ethernet.
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA and Kanban methodology.
  • Experience with protocol communications including Crimping, LIN Communication, Ethernet Communication, and A2B communication.
  • Experience with production processes including Strip & Crimping, Welding, Stamping, Molding.
  • Knowledge of standards including USCAR 2, USCAR 21, USCAR 12, USCAR 15, USCAR 37, USCAR 38; LV 124, LV 148; ISO 8820; Open Alliance (TC2 and TC9) and IEEE 802.3bp/bw.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and execute test plans to validate mechanical, electrical, and environmental failure modes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and captured within the validation plan.
  • Identify appropriate test assets, data acquisition systems, and sensors to ensure high-quality test data.
  • Analyze test data to provide clear and concise reporting of test results.
  • Support DFMEA activities to gain confidence that all potential failure modes are adequately covered within the validation plan.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with 3D design tools. CATIA 3DX or CATIA V5 or SolidWorks preferred
  • EMI / EMC validation experience
  • Familiarity with IEC 60068, GMW 3172, IEEE 802.3, USCAR, AEC & IPC standards
  • Familiarity with Vector tools (CANanalyzer or similar)
  • Power Distribution and Thermal Management (derating strategies)
  • Batteries Chemistry (Lead-Acid and Li-ion)
  • Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
