Requirements
  • Currently enrolled and working on a 4-year degree in a related field (environmental protection, health, industrial hygiene, safety, physical science, engineering, chemistry, biology, etc.)
  • 0–1 year of experience in a related field with experience working with hazardous materials and hazardous waste
  • 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
  • Current certification in DOT, CalOSHA 30-hour, Hazard Waste Management preferred
  • Demonstrates competency in researching and applying EHS compliance regulations to site operations
  • Maintain a level of competence in EHS regulatory compliance
  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required
Responsibilities
  • Help develop, implement, and monitor company environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Assist with collecting, preparing for pick up, and monitoring hazardous waste at all sites
  • Participate in all aspects of the EHS inspection, investigation, and audit program
  • Follow procedures to monitor health and safety at designated locations
  • Assist in educating, monitoring, and training personnel in safe work procedures
  • Demonstrate the correct use of personal and general safety equipment
  • Work on routine assignments under close supervision
  • Receive detailed instructions on all work
  • Other duties as assigned
