Requirements
  • A high school diploma, technical trade school diploma, or advanced degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or Construction is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in facilities or construction is required.
  • Knowledge of construction trades, including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and carpentry, is required.
  • Experience in a facilities or construction leadership role is required.
  • A valid driver's license and state-mandated levels of auto liability insurance are required.
  • Ability to travel locally 50% of the time is required.
  • Ability to work on call is required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of operating vehicles, equipment, snowplows, power tools, and related equipment is required.
  • Ability to use Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, planning, and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required.
  • Ability to supervise a team, delegate tasks, and motivate staff is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive facilities plan that guides organizational infrastructure toward operational excellence and long-term viability while aligning with overarching business goals.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Business Development to establish the maintenance budget and capital budget.
  • Engage in space planning to build environments that promote productivity and well-being, enhance employee satisfaction and collaboration, and support organizational success.
  • Lead day-to-day facilities operations.
  • Inspect building structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations and recommend upgrades and modifications as needed.
  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Operate snow removal equipment, including plows, spreaders, and snow blowers, to clear snow from walkways and parking lots.
  • Complete pre-storm preparations, apply de-icing agents, and maintain equipment during winter weather conditions.
  • Ensure that winter weather hazards resulting in slips, trips, or falls are eliminated.
  • Work additional evening, weekend, and holiday hours when needed for snow removal.
