At AZ Blue, we have a hybrid workforce strategy, called Workability, that offers flexibility with how and where employees work. Our positions are classified as hybrid, onsite or remote. While the majority of our employees are hybrid, the following classifications drive our current minimum onsite requirements:

Hybrid People Leaders: must reside in AZ, required to be onsite at least once per week
Hybrid Individual Contributors: must reside in AZ, unless otherwise cited within this posting, required to be onsite at least once per month
Onsite: daily onsite requirement based on the essential functions of the job
Remote: not held to onsite requirements, however, leadership can request presence onsite for business reasons including but not limited to staff meetings, one-on-ones, training, and team building

Please note that onsite requirements may change in the future, based on business need, and job responsibilities. Most employees should expect onsite requirements and at a minimum of once per month.

This internship requires work and residency in the state of Arizona.

What to Expect

As anIT Application DevelopmentIntern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, contribute to the development of cutting-edge applications, and gain valuable hands-on experience in the healthcare technology sector.

Pay: $18-$23

Hours: 20 – 40 hours per week (Depending on your school schedule. We’re flexible!)

Duration: 8-12 weeks

Location: Onboarding, training, and some projects will be located at our 8220 N 23rd Ave. office in Phoenix, Arizona.

Throughout this Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona internship, you will:

Learn the BCBSAZ business model, organization, and impact on the community.

Assist with technical support, resolution, and analysis of information technology functions.

Expand and develop knowledge through exposure to the roles within the IT Application Developmentarea.

Participate on work teams, contribute to projects and initiatives, and perform various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.

Research, analyze, track, and resolve basic information technology problems.

Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and help develop solutions.

Learn area’s direct flow and how it affects surrounding systems and operational areas.

Qualifications

Two years attendance at an accredited school pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in computer technology or related technical field.

GPA of 3.0 or higher

Intermediate PC proficiency
