Akamai's Infrastructure Services team manages and supports Corporate IT infrastructure for internal business functions. In this role, you will manage daily operations of Data Protection and Network Storage within Corporate IT. You will also collaborate with technical teams and business functions to deliver IT solutions efficiently.

Akamai's Infrastructure Services team is seeking a Unix System Administrator II. The role involves providing operational support for Data Protection and Network Storage Infrastructure. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering IT support services efficiently.

As a Systems Administrator II UNIX, you will be responsible for:

• On-going administration support of NetApp platform (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)
• Using system resource utilization and monitoring tools like GAP (Grafana, Alert manager & Prometheus) to identify potential problem areas before they result in incidents.
• Assisting in change management of platforms for new versions of ONTAP, Hotfixes, Sysadmin tasks, etc.
• Automating routine administrative and maintenance tasks by scripting the procedures through Shell Scripting, Perl or ansible.
• Handling Major/Critical incidents for problem resolution & work through root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Collaborating with engineering teams for project implementation.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
• Have 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Management and Service Delivery.
• Have hands-on expertise in managing NetApp storage arrays and Cisco MDS fabric switches (5+ years).
• Have 2+ years of experience with Linux, Windows servers, virtualization, clustering, and data protection.
• Possess advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and high-availability networking.
• Demonstrate good communication, documentation skills, and relevant certifications (NetApp, RedHat).
