Requirements
  • A high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in an electronics field are required.
  • The ability to travel 100% of the time, including domestic and air travel, is required.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computer technology, network infrastructure, flat-panel televisions and monitors, point-of-sale equipment, scanners, handheld devices, kiosks, printers, and related retail and small-to-medium-business technologies is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and competency in electricity and electronics are required, along with the ability to use test equipment, basic hand tools, electronic testing equipment, and electric meters.
  • The ability to follow written or spoken directions and provide clear, concise information is required.
  • Customer service, multitasking, prioritization, independent work, written and oral communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to recognize and understand the functional and operational use of IT signal and power cables and low-voltage wiring systems, and to diagnose and repair them, is required.
  • The ability to work long hours in a physically demanding environment and varying shifts, including overtime and weekends, is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and use ladders or lifts is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic repairs and services on products using standard maintenance packages, diagnostics, reference documentation, system tools, and service aids.
  • Perform installations, relocations, discontinuances, product-level engineering, configuration changes, upgrades, and modifications to retail point-of-sale equipment at customer locations.
  • Communicate with customers, management, peers, and team members about work status, potential problems, customer satisfaction, and requests for assistance.
  • Complete service events in a high-quality and timely manner to meet customer commitments and minimize operational disruptions.
  • With assistance, plan, prioritize, and schedule work to meet or exceed customer service-level objectives.
  • Arrange travel plans using approved business tools and respond to schedule changes with minimal notice.
  • Document installation activities, including air travel, calls, mileage, timecards, and expense reports, using automated systems and established reports.
  • Maintain and manage trunk stock to support customers.
  • Perform equipment refurbishment and other related duties as assigned.
