What You’ll Do

ArmstrongUtilitiesis seeking candidates for a Financial Accountantposition in Butler, PA.  The Accountant will play a key role in the accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for Armstrong Utilities and Armstrong Telecommunications.  The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results-orientedprofessional who is an innovative thinker.  The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.   ​

• Prepares journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles 
• Prepares accounting records and reviews transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy 
• Reviews weekly Accounts Payable batches to ensure proper account coding and adherence to company policy 
• Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts 
• Actively supports the annual budgeting process and financial audit 
• Proactively identifies areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting Department 
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting  
• One to five years of progressive accounting experience 
• Analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving 
• Ability to adapt to changing demands and needs 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Strong technical skills and ability to learn new applications and reporting tools 
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
