Solid Power develops and produces all-solid-state battery cells aimed at enhancing the performance of electric vehicles (EVs). These batteries utilize sulfide-based solid electrolytes, which allow for efficient ion movement and easy manufacturing, resulting in batteries that are safer, longer-lasting, and more cost-effective than traditional options. Solid Power's technology leads to reduced battery size and weight while increasing the driving range of EVs. The company distinguishes itself from competitors by focusing on the unique properties of its solid electrolytes, which provide a better balance of conductivity and manufacturability. Solid Power's goal is to support the automotive industry, partnering with major clients like BMW and Ford, and to advance the future of energy storage and e-mobility.
