Requirements
  • A Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis or a related field.
  • Board certification in behavior analysis as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral.
  • A Behavior Specialist or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst license for the assigned state or states.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst working with clients with autism spectrum disorders in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Fluency conducting ABLLS, VB-MAPP, PEAK, Vineland, QABF, MAS, FAST, and Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements and the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst credential with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Ethical Code and applicable ethics codes.
  • Complete the competency checklist.
  • Knowledge of scientifically validated methodologies and approaches for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, including current related research findings.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA practices and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Knowledge of IBHS and managed care organization regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to apply Behavior Analyst Certification Board ethics codes while maintaining integrity and promoting best practices.
  • Ability to lead practices while adhering to state and managed care organization requirements.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain healthy, productive working relationships.
  • Ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and design behavior intervention plans based on assessment results.
  • Ability to train new behavior technicians and family members regarding client treatment plans.
  • Experience using assessment tools including VB-MAPP, ABLLS, and AFLS, and designing and implementing treatment plans and recommendations based on initial assessment results.
  • Ability to lead supervision and meetings.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations and solve problems.
  • Ability to travel locally between assigned locations during the stated work hours.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform prolonged walking, running, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and stooping.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and follow-up behavior assessments with patients.
  • Develop individualized intervention plans to correct, maintain, or improve behaviors.
  • Provide consultation and training to parents, school personnel, and therapeutic support staff.
  • Write initial behavior assessment reports and treatment plans in compliance with Behavior Analyst Certification Board, insurance, and organizational standards.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop and implement behavior intervention plans.
  • Participate in Child Study Team evaluations.
  • Provide contracted school consultation and program development.
  • Develop applied behavior analysis therapy programs and materials, monitor programs, and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Prepare three-month and six-month concurrent treatment plans, including data analysis, report writing, program updates, and administration and scoring of the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System.
  • Provide field supervision of Registered Behavior Technicians and behavior health technicians onsite, in homes, and in schools in accordance with Behavior Analyst Certification Board standards.
  • Conduct community training programs.
  • Complete 24 hours of required training within the first 3 months of hire before the first case assignment and 24 hours of related training each year.
  • Submit annual authorization reports, clinical updates, and crisis plans.
  • Maintain a client caseload and provide services aligned with authorized hours.
  • Conduct direct behavior health technician hours supporting clients without staff when clinically appropriate and when below the weekly billable-hours expectation.
  • Support the supervisor in mentoring and training new Board-Certified Behavior Analysts and behavior clinicians, including competency checklists.
  • Support new-hire orientation.
  • Support clinic activities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
