Salary Range: 102000 to 112000 (Currency: USD) (Pay period: per-year-salary)
We are seeking a Substation Physical Design Engineer to join our Northeast team! This position will perform detailed physical designs of medium to extra high voltage utility substations. The Substation Physical Design Engineer will contribute to electrical designs, physical layout designs and calculations. Typical projects include working within multi-disciplinary teams to assist in developing efficient and reliable solutions for intricate substation projects.

What you will do:
- Performing complex CAD work.
- Work with engineers and clients to resolve issues.
- Reading and understanding client standards and specifications, other project related documents, and meeting their requirements.
- Review and implement lessons learned from previous projects.
- Review own work before sending out.
- Perform CAD checks per utility standards.
- Create and verify Bill of Material.
- Upload drawings to AutoCAD Vault.
- Data and document entry into various platforms.
- Scanning, copying and filing documents.
- Reporting safety, health, and quality issues to management.
- Assist management as directed.
- Project scheduling.
- Perform tasks under the assigned hours.
- Perform the detailed physical design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
What we are looking for:
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel as well as ACAD or MicroStation and Revit.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Familiar with discipline specific design software and design management systems.
- Understanding of protection and control design.
- Electrical reasoning skills and attention to detail.
Your background:
- 6-8 of experience on technical, engineering projects.
- CAD training in AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or MicroStation.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Understanding of wiring diagrams, cable routing, or substation layouts & sections.
- Electrical Engineering degree required/P.E highly encouraged.
