Requirements
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Up to 25% domestic travel only required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in social work, sociology, education, special education, mental health, and/or related field
  • Experience working cross culturally and with preliterate and/or non-native English speakers
  • Flexibility and desire to learn and serve others
  • Experience in teaching or group facilitation
  • Familiar with community resources in the local area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
  • Adapt the extended cultural orientation curriculum to meet local refugee population needs
  • Host integration classes and ensure that classes run smoothly for participants and presenters
  • Create an encouraging and supportive environment that fosters learning and encourages participants to work towards self-sufficiency
  • Educate participants on topics he/she is knowledgeable about in a relevant and engaging manner
  • Schedule speakers from community organizations and health care providers who will present on relevant topics
  • Be familiar with program guidelines and requirements for the Preferred Communities (PC) grant
  • Assist with participant recruitment, eligibility screening, and enrollment
  • Create systems to track barriers/skills/needs, vulnerabilities, attendance, participation, objectives met, and participant feedback
  • Create and use assessment tools to monitor participants’ progress toward goals
  • Update databases and forms monthly or as needed to maintain appropriate record keeping
  • Work closely with the other members of the PC team to ensure participants are making progress toward objectives
  • Participate in required department and all-staff meetings
  • Participate in required PC meetings and trainings, including travel to annual national conference
  • Assist in drafting quarterly reports (narrative, data, financial) to grantors, donors, and volunteers
