Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Zero to two years of modality-specific work experience.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
  • Registration with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or obtain registration within one year in the position.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for professional rescuers and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to perform the required physical functions, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive fine-motor movements.
  • Ability to maintain the specified vision, hearing, tactile, olfactory, peripheral-vision, and depth-perception capabilities.
  • Ability to be physically qualified by medical personnel for respirator use initially and annually.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation.
  • Use available MRI resources, protocols, and technology to provide accurate and timely imaging services.
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding MRI procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards, infection-control practices, and MRI-specific protocols.
  • Monitor patients throughout examinations and respond appropriately to patient needs and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation according to departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and quality control of MRI equipment and work areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and organizational policies and procedures.
