Requirements
- Previous molecular assay development and validation experience
- Expertise in nucleic acid isolation from various biospecimen types
- Expertise in various NGS library preparation methods
- Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience managing a team and collaborating with cross-functional groups
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly
- Ph.D. and 5+ years experience in molecular assay development required
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Scientist and BI analysts to develop custom workflows for sample preparation, NGS, and proteomic applications
- Establish scientific approach and work statements for each project to meet the client objectives and expected outcomes
- Manage the service of client facing projects to include but not limited to:
- Initial discovery studies for solutions to challenging samples or study parameters
- Custom RUO NGS workflow development
- Integration of new/bespoke processes into automation workflows and SOPs
- Execution of project specific pilot studies
- Provide flexible support for other activities in Tempus-wide R&D and clinical NGS labs including troubleshooting, emerging technology assessment, etc
- Mentor and direct scientific laboratory staff
