Requirements
- A CPA designation is required.
- Must hold permits to practice in Missouri and Kansas, or be qualified to obtain them.
- Must have at least 6 years of public accounting experience.
- Must have working knowledge of professional standards.
- Must have sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
- Must be familiar with Governmental Accounting Standards Board reporting.
- Must have single audit experience.
- Must possess solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to serve as the primary client contact and prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients.
- Must possess solid decision-making skills.
- Must be able to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct audit teams.
- Review audit results by delegating tasks throughout the planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up stages of audit engagements.
- Present audit reports and findings to clients’ governing bodies.
- Provide training to audit staff through training sessions and on-the-job training.
- Take a leadership role in growing the audit practice.
- Manage business development and marketing activities.
- Manage engagement profitability, including budgets, billings, and collections.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience auditing not-for-profit and governmental entities is a plus.
- Experience working in a paperless environment is a plus.
