Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited school in engineering, business, management, or a related field, or journeyman lineman certification and 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Candidates without a bachelor's degree or journeyman lineman certification must have 7 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of utility line construction, operating, and maintenance practices and industry concepts and standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and compliance regulations affecting the area of operation.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse population.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Ability to lift small tools or office equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Provide process and coordination for activities related to the construction, maintenance, operation, and restoration of underground and overhead distribution and transmission systems.
  • Monitor and coordinate departmental activities and resources, including work crew personnel.
  • Coordinate emergency and pre-arranged activities to provide line crew and field support for system restoration and scheduled maintenance.
  • Support efforts to identify, implement, and track maintenance and capital programs and expenditures within the area of responsibility.
  • Prepare and coordinate bid proposals for outside contractors.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis of field activities to senior management as needed.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for information on outage schedules and procedures.
  • Assist with department planning and budgeting by identifying and justifying tool, equipment, and personnel requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend process improvements and technology integration to promote efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform Duty Supervisor responsibilities when required, including vehicle accident investigations and administration of the Post-Accident Testing Policy.
  • Ensure that all compliance aspects of the position are understood and followed, including applicable company policies, codes, and regulations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
