Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in Hosting and SaaS management and cost control (including Procurement and commercial negotiations, License and commit management, RIs and Saving Plan strategies, Resource rightsizing & utilization)
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading programs, teams, and individuals across time zones
  • Deep understanding of the FinOps framework and its principles
  • Experience effectively maturing FinOps in rapidly growing enterprise SaaS organizations
  • Multi-cloud experience (AWS, GCP, and Azure preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to guide and influence senior leadership across the organization
  • Relationship building with executive leadership
Responsibilities
  • Partner with VP Cloud Engineering to define vision, strategy, roadmap, and deliverables
  • Lead and level up all aspects of a centralized Cloud FinOps group (including staffing requirements & hiring, professional growth/development, and individual mentorship)
  • Establish an inclusive, data-driven, and results-oriented culture
  • Communicate and drive organizational-wide FinOps strategy and adoption
  • Operate and orchestrate effectively in a large, dynamic multi-cloud and SaaS ecosystem
  • Drive Gross Margin performance company-wide and improve unit costs and efficiency
  • Coordinate and collaborate with different business units & organizations including Architecture, Product, Finance, Development, Platform, Infrastructure and SRE
  • Define and implement cost observability platforms and tools for real-time monitoring
  • Define metrics and KPI strategy to track both goals and monitor/alert on cost changes
  • Provide timely, insightful, and actionable reports to Business and Engineering leaders
  • Identify opportunities and improve core capabilities to effectively operate at a global scale
  • Champion empowering Engineering teams to manage against a budget & optimize margin impact
  • Manage and develop all annual and monthly forecasting and reconciliation activities
  • Support financial and product usage modeling activities (e.g. cost per unit)
  • Enable accurate cost-impact analysis and assessments at scale
Desired Qualifications
  • BS in Computing, Software Engineering, Math, Finance or equivalent experience
  • CNCF FinOps Certification (FOCP), or similar
  • Public Cloud Certification (AWS, or Azure)
