Sales tax tools are now available on every plan.

Sales tax tools are now available on every plan. Until now, ThriveCart's tax calculation and collection features were only available on Pro+ and Legacy plans. They are now available to every ThriveCart merchant, regardless of plan, providing tax calculation and collection in the following territories: * USA * Canada * European Union (EU) * Some non-EU countries like the UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Liechtenstein * Australia * New Zealand * Chile * Mexico That means you can now calculate and collect sales tax directly at checkout, automatically, with no subscription-based third-party software needed. ThriveCart handles the calculation, applies the correct rate for the customer's jurisdiction, verifies VAT IDs for EU buyers, and applies the reverse charge mechanism where applicable. You get a compliant sale, while ThriveCart handle the complexity. Set this at the account or product level, for maximum flexibility. This isn't something new for ThriveCart. ThriveCart has processed hundreds of millions in tax payments for its merchants over the last 5+ years, after being first introduced in 2021. Alongside this, tax-inclusive pricing - the ability to display prices with tax already included in the final price - is available to Pro+ accounts, available exclusively when Stripe Connect+ is a selected payment method on checkouts. Tax-inclusive pricing has been proven to lead to an average sales increase of 22%. New tools to help you stay on top of compliance. ThriveCart is also introducing two new in-platform tools to help make sure nothing slips through the cracks: * Dashboard notifications: A banner appears if you have live products without sales tax enabled, along with a filter so you can quickly see which products need attention. * Compliance prompts: Every time you take a product live without tax configured, a reminder appears giving you the option to set it up before proceeding. These tools are purely informational. They're there to keep you aware of your exposure - because as the scenarios below show, the cost of a missed obligation tends to grow the longer it goes unaddressed. Why tax compliance matters more than you may realize. Sales tax obligations for online sellers have become significantly more complex since the Supreme Court's 2018 South Dakota v. Wayfair ruling, which established that sellers could owe tax in states where they have no physical presence, based purely on revenue volume. Every U.S. state with a sales tax now has its own economic nexus threshold. Some are $100,000 in annual sales. Some are just 200 transactions. Rates, exemptions, and filing frequencies vary by state, county, and city. Most sellers know this, in theory. But knowing about it and staying on top of it are two very different things. The consequences of getting it wrong can be severe. According to sales tax expert Diane Yetter, President of the Sales Tax Institute, "every error you make is an average of 9% of your gross revenue" - and in a worst case, "not being compliant with sales tax could put your company out of business." Here's what that looks like in practice: Scenario 1: the back-tax bill. Yetter describes a client with $700,000 in sales into New Jersey. For a single year of non-compliance, they were looking at $46,000 in unpaid tax - and that's before penalties and interest. Add those in, and the total can reach $70,000 for just one year in one state. Scenario 2: Penalty stacking across multiple states. Sales tax penalties typically range from 5% to 25% of unpaid tax, depending on the state and how long the situation has been unaddressed. In Texas, the failure-to-file penalty alone can reach up to 20%. These percentages apply per filing period - so a seller with three years of unfiled returns across multiple states isn't looking at one penalty. They're looking at penalty calculations for each quarterly or monthly period, stacking across every state, compounding alongside interest the entire time. Scenario 3: The acquisition that almost didn't happen. Yetter notes that her team regularly performs tax due diligence for buyers evaluating acquisitions. "When we're looking at the data of the seller, we're finding exposure. We make recommendations to the buyer that you either walk away from a deal if the exposure is too big, or you reduce the purchase price because the value is lower." Unresolved sales tax liabilities don't just cost you in the present - they can depress the value of your business when it matters most. And it's not just in the U.S. Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and many other countries may have applicable sales tax legislation. These may apply if you're selling to customers in those regions, even if you're not based there. None of this is designed to alarm you unnecessarily. The vast majority of sellers who have tax gaps simply didn't know they had them, or kept meaning to sort it out. But the cost of delay is real, and it compounds every month. That's exactly what ThriveCart's built-in tax tools are designed to protect against. Set, forget... and sell more, simply. Faq. Q: Is there a fee for using the calculate and collect sales tax features? A: Yes, ThriveCart passes on costs associated with tax calculation and collection. This is a market standard rate of 0.5% per eligible transaction - a small per-eligible-transaction price for compliance, security, and peace of mind. Please see a full fee schedule for the payment processors offered through ThriveCart here. Q: Does the tax processing fee apply to all of my transactions? A: No. The fee only applies to transactions where ThriveCart's tax engine actively does work - meaning it calculated and collected sales tax, or verified a customer's VAT ID and applied the reverse charge. If tax isn't enabled on a product, or if a calculation takes place but results in no tax being due and no reverse charge applies, no fee is charged. Q: I'm a long-time user. What happens to me? A: If you're a Legacy or Pro+ (grandfathered or subscribed before May 1, 2026) user, you already have access to all the tax calculation and collection tools. No charge is being announced in this release. Q: Will ThriveCart tell me when to apply taxes? A: ThriveCart will remind you to set up taxes when setting your product(s) live; however, tax compliance is your sole responsibility. Nothing in this article or within the ThriveCart dashboard, support articles, or anywhere else is financial or accounting advice, and you should seek your own counsel from a licensed professional about your own compliance requirements. If you don't enable sales tax on your products, no tax calculation takes place and no processing fee applies. The compliance tools ThriveCart has introduced - the dashboard banner and the product-save prompt - are informational only. They cannot be used to enable tax on your behalf, and they don't affect your transactions. Q: Will I see these fees listed somewhere in my account? A: Yes. All applicable fees will be reflected in your transaction records. If you have questions about a specific transaction, its support team is available to walk you through exactly what was applied and why. Q: Will ThriveCart offer tax remittance? A: Yes! This is coming in late Q3, 2026. Please see its public roadmap here. Sell more, simply! ThriveCart and viasocket integration: put your business on autopilot.

ThriveCart and viasocket integration: put your business on autopilot. * Written by Jared Orlin Table of Contents Running an online business means wearing a lot of hats. Between managing sales, following up with customers, tracking affiliates, and keeping your tools in sync, the admin side of things can eat up several hours of your week. That's why ThriveCart LLC is excited to announce that ThriveCart now integrates with viaSocket - an AI-powered automation platform that connects your favorite apps and handles the repetitive stuff for you, automatically. No coding. No developers. Just more time to focus on what you actually love doing! Key takeaways * viaSocket connects ThriveCart to 2,200+ apps so your tools work together automatically * You can trigger automations based on real ThriveCart events like new purchases, subscription changes, and affiliate updates * Setting up workflows takes just a few clicks - no technical knowledge required * This integration is available to all ThriveCart users right now What is viaSocket? Think of viaSocket as the glue between your apps. Put simply, it's a no-code automation platform that watches for things happening in one app and then automatically does something in another. These automated sequences are called "workflows," and once you set them up, they run on their own in the background. For example, when a customer purchases through ThriveCart, viaSocket can automatically: * Add them to your email marketing list * Create a contact in your CRM * Send a Slack notification to your team * Log the sale in a Google Sheet All of that, without you lifting a finger. It's just another way ThriveCart is helping creators spend less time doing boring admin and more time doing the things you love - whether that's with your business, family, or friends. Why does this matter for ThriveCart users? Before this integration, you may have been manually exporting data, copying customer details between tools, or relying on limited built-in integrations. With viaSocket, ThriveCart becomes the hub of a much bigger, smarter system. Here's what changes for you: * Less manual data entry - customer details flow automatically to wherever you need them * Faster follow-up - trigger email sequences or CRM tasks the moment a sale happens * Better visibility - keep your team in the loop with automatic notifications * Smarter affiliate management - automate actions when affiliates are approved or rejected What can you automate with ThriveCart and viaSocket? viaSocket works by connecting "triggers" (things that happen in ThriveCart) with "actions" (things that happen in another app as a result). ThriveCart triggers. These are the ThriveCart events that can kickstart an automated workflow: * Subscription resumes - a paused subscription becomes active again * Subscription pauses - a customer pauses their subscription * Affiliate approved - a new affiliate is accepted into your program * Affiliate rejected - an affiliate application is declined ThriveCart actions. viaSocket can also perform actions directly inside ThriveCart when something happens in another app: * Add a student - enroll someone in a ThriveCart course automatically * Get customer details - look up a customer by email as part of a wider workflow * Issue a refund - process a refund triggered by an event elsewhere * Search affiliates - find affiliates by name or ID as part of an automated flow * Create an affiliate with products - set up new affiliates programmatically Need additional triggers and actions? No problem! Users can request additional functionality directly from the viaSocket integration page: * Submit the use case they want to automate. * viaSocket's product and engineering teams review the request * If the required APIs are available from the partner side, viaSocket typically delivers the requested trigger/action within 24-48 hours, and in many cases within 24 hours. * There is no cost to the user for requesting new triggers or actions. Real-world examples. Here's how some creators, coaches, and entrepreneurs are putting this to work: For coaches and course creators * When a subscription resumes, automatically re-enroll the student and send a welcome-back email * When a new affiliate is approved, add them to an onboarding sequence in ActiveCampaign For product sellers * Log every new sale in a Google Sheet for easy reporting * Create a HubSpot contact automatically when a customer purchases For membership site owners * When a subscription pauses, update the member's record in Airtable and notify your team in Slack * When a subscription resumes, remove them from a win-back email sequence * Send a Slack message to your operations team every time a high-value purchase comes through * Automatically create a support ticket in Zendesk when a refund is issued How to get started. Getting up and running with viaSocket is straightforward: * Head to viasocket.com to start for free, adding top-up credits as needed. Take advantage of its exclusive, limited-time deal for ThriveCart users - use the dedicated THRIVECART to receive 100% off any viaSocket lifetime plan. The code is valid until June 30, 2026. * Start a new workflow and select ThriveCart as your trigger app * Choose the event you want to respond to (e.g. "Subscription resumes") * Add the app you want to take action in (e.g. Slack, HubSpot, Google Sheets) * Configure the action, test it, and publish your workflow That's it. Your automation is live. viaSocket connects ThriveCart with over 2,200 apps, so whatever tools you already use, chances are they're already supported. Browse all ThriveCart integrations on viaSocket to see what's possible. Ready to put your business on autopilot? If you're already a ThriveCart customer, you can start building workflows with viaSocket today. ThriveCart launches ThriveAcademy LMS with social learning to tackle 12.6% course completion crisis

ThriveCart, a checkout and sales funnel platform serving over 75,000 online entrepreneurs, has launched ThriveAcademy, a community-first learning management system designed to address the online education industry's low completion rates, which average just 12.6%. The platform's flagship Communities feature integrates course content directly into branded social learning networks rather than isolated course players. Students access lessons through a dynamic activity feed featuring peer discussions, progress tracking, leaderboards and announcements, keeping learners engaged within a social context. Research shows supported online courses achieve 42% completion rates, whilst selective cohort programmes reach 85-90%. ThriveAcademy aims to replicate these results by embedding community, accountability and social connection into the learning experience. The platform eliminates the need for separate checkout, course and community tools by integrating everything within ThriveCart's existing ecosystem.

ThriveCart launches ThriveAcademy, A new learning platform that puts community at the center of every course.

ThriveCart launches ThriveAcademy, A new learning platform that puts community at the center of every course. GlobeNewswire | ThriveCart Today at 9:02am PDT WILMINGTON, Del., May 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - ThriveCart, the leading checkout and sales funnel platform trusted by 75,000+ online entrepreneurs, coaches, and creators, today announced the launch of ThriveAcademy, its next-generation community-first learning management system (LMS) built to solve one of the biggest challenges in online education: student drop-off. At the heart of ThriveAcademy is Communities: social learning functionality that fundamentally reimagines how students experience online courses. Rather than coaches and entrepreneurs delivering lessons inside an isolated course player, ThriveAcademy embeds every piece of course content directly inside a creator-branded social community, turning passive consumption into an engaging, connected, and motivating learning experience. Addressing the Course Completion Rate Crisis The numbers tell a stark story. The average course completion rate across the online education industry sits at just 12.6%*. ThriveAcademy is designed to disrupt this cycle. Research shows that supported and coached online courses achieve completion rates of 42%, and selective cohort-based programs can reach as high as 85-90%**. The difference? Community, accountability, and belonging. With ThriveAcademy, students no longer land in a course player when they log in. Instead, they arrive at a personalized, branded community - presented with a dynamic activity feed that surfaces course progress, peer discussions, achievement celebrations, leaderboard rankings, quizzes, and creator announcements all in one place. Lessons load directly inside the community environment, so students never leave the social context while they learn. "For too long, course creators have been forced to choose between a great checkout platform, course platform, and a great community platform," said Ismael Wrixen, CEO of ThriveCart. "ThriveAcademy changes that entirely. We've built a platform where community isn't a bolt-on feature - it's the foundation. When students feel connected, accountable, and part of something bigger than a single course, they show up, they complete, and they come back. That's what ThriveAcademy delivers, and we can't wait to see what our creators build with it." One Platform. No More Fragmentation. ThriveAcademy communities are built directly into the ThriveCart ecosystem, eliminating the need for third-party tools and delivering a seamless, unified experience from discovery, through checkout, fulfilment, learning, growth, and onward success.
