Our San Marino office in LA is looking to hire an Associate Portfolio Manager. The Associate Portfolio Manager role is responsible for assisting the investment strategy team to provide investment and portfolio research to enhance the investment selection and communication process to team advisors and operations. Under supervision, this role will conduct market research as instructed and complete daily portfolio management workflows. Successful Associate Portfolio Managers are given greater responsibility and input into decisions with the ultimate goal of growing into a Portfolio Manager role.
The salary target for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 depending on experience.

Primary Job Functions
Research individual securities, sectors and industries as directed and present findings
Conduct analysis on individual securities such as stocks, bonds, and ETFs.
Learn and implement custom models using platforms such as FactSet and other portfolio management tools.
Present findings in oral and/or written form to appropriate individuals or groups
Securities Trading
Conducts daily trading, including portfolio set-up and maintenance
Set-up trades for block trades
Communicate and execute all trade with proper counter parties
Fulfill trade requests from advisor team
Trade error resolution
Attain and maintain expert level knowledge with Orion and other software
Work with external custodians trading platforms
Monitor Trading Performance
Portfolio Operations
Oversee anything that affects our portfolio management
GIPS Compliance
Software updates and troubleshooting as needed
Trade Reconciliation
Integrate with investment team to develop and maintain a deep understanding in the team’s custom investment strategy and a general understanding of broader strategies available
Contribute to team meetings/discussion by sharing insights based on personal experience and expertise
Seek to understand other aspects of investment team function to enhance the team’s depth of knowledge
Assist investment team with special projects as required
Participation with enthusiasm in one-time special investment related projects, which will inevitably occur as a dynamic and growing firm.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Progress toward Charted Financial Analyst designation required
3+ years of experience in Financial Services or related field
1-2 years of experience in portfolio management or investment research
In-depth knowledge of all securities products
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills
Familiarity with Salesforce and Orion preferred
Familiarity with custom models including FactSet highly preferred
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Strong quantitative, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills
Highly flexible and adaptable, with a strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Chinese preferred
Series 65 within first 6 months of employment
OSHA Requirement
This position requires the ability to:
Stand or sit for long periods of time,
File documents in high or low cabinets,
Ability to use the telephone and computer systems for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
Ability to travel independently to different regional offices.
