Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the site management team, provides site level policies/procedures for EHS performance and strategy
  • Ensures site compliance with government safety and health regulations, company HS standards and site procedures
  • Owns relationship and communication with external regulatory agencies and provides necessary follow-up for inspections by regulatory agencies
  • Accountable for and Site SME of all programs related to Health, Safety Training and Security, for example: Process Safety Management, RC14001, Plant security, Management of Change, Incident Investigations, Action Item Closure and Site Regulatory Compliance Matters
  • Maintains high level of readiness and emergency preparedness, provides for the appropriate testing, maintenance and replacement of all equipment and personnel necessary to meet the needs of the site
  • Performs regular hazard analysis and event investigations to identify safety risks to people or SI operations, and recommends solution to reduce or resolve
  • Develop and implement Training Programs that meet regulatory requirements and improve site health, safety, and security
  • Ensures the oversight of timely employee and contractor training according to regulatory requirements and/or site requirements.
  • Performs training evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs and implements improvements as necessary
  • Defines and monitors area or process specific training needs for Operators
  • Provides feedback and coaching to production operators to increase process knowledge and performance
  • Owns and drives Emergency Response processes for the site
  • Coordinates training and execution of all fire school activities
  • Site Contact for mutual aid and LEPC
  • Coordinates and manages emergency response related equipment for cleaning, inspection and repair and any other requirements necessary to maintain functional and reliable use
  • Supports and assists to Drive LEAN/Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency (Operational Excellence)
  • Grow a culture of continuous improvement (CI) by consistently embedding CI into meetings, trainings, processes, and systems
  • Ensures Maintenance work is supported through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; identifies and leverages Production best practices
  • Clarifies and constantly reinforces SI’s vision, mission, and values
  • Effectively models leadership through personal exhibition of SI’s Value-Based Behavioral Competencies
  • Accountable and responsible for recruiting, retaining, and developing high quality talent within department
  • Demonstrates strong personal awareness along with ability to influence and lead multiculturally
  • High School diploma
  • 10 years of manufacturing/production experience preferred
  • Strong safety performance including understanding and adherence to site safety standards

SI Group, a global manufacturer of performance additives and chemical intermediates, has completed a comprehensive recapitalisation that reduces its net debt by approximately $1.7 billion, representing over 80% of its outstanding indebtedness. The transaction, supported by lenders and equity partners, includes amendments to the company's revolving credit facility to enhance financial flexibility. A new institutional ownership group has invested $150 million in junior capital, demonstrating confidence in SI Group's prospects. The Woodlands, Texas-based company will use the investment to fund working capital needs, operational initiatives and growth acceleration. President and CEO David Bradley said the recapitalisation strengthens the firm's financial foundation, enabling continued investment in growth and operational capabilities whilst supporting customers globally.
