Requirements
  • A University Degree in Computer or a related STEM field plus approximately 10+ years of experience.
  • Those with a Master's or PhD may be considered with less experience.
  • Alternatively, candidates with 13+ years of industry experience gained through non-traditional paths, such as bootcamps or self-teaching, are also encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities
  • Help improve and expand AI Scribe, Jane’s first AI-powered feature, by delivering high-quality, customer-centered enhancements that reduce admin work for practitioners.
  • Design and build core infrastructure for Jane’s AI platform, creating scalable tools and workflows that empower other teams to build AI features safely and efficiently.
  • Support other teams across Jane by co-developing technical solutions and guiding responsible AI adoption — from early ideation to production-ready tools.
  • Lead with technical depth, applying strong software engineering principles to architect resilient systems and meaningful APIs in a fast-evolving space.
  • Collaborate closely with design, support, and product to deeply understand customer needs and continuously test ideas - keeping empathy and utility at the core of every solution.
  • Shape the future of AI at Jane, helping define our internal standards, approaches, and roadmap for responsible and scalable AI product development.
Desired Qualifications
  • Depth and diversity of experience, already operating at the Staff level, demonstrated by working in different capacities across multiple products and companies, bringing a well-rounded perspective on various development methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and team collaboration.
  • Extensive experience and ownership in design and architecture, making impactful architectural decisions across more than one team and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Proven experience leading technical efforts across multiple teams, driving decisions, and establishing best practices that uphold high standards and align with organizational objectives.
  • A desire to remain actively involved in coding while leading teams through technical challenges, balancing hands-on work with high-level strategy.
  • Actively involved in creating technical roadmaps that align engineering efforts with strategic business goals, and partnering with leadership to influence business direction.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, collaborating effectively with stakeholders, including Product Managers, Designers, and others to ensure cohesive and efficient product development.

Jane app provides an all-in-one practice management platform for allied healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists. The software lets users run their entire practice online with tools for appointment booking, charting patient progress, scheduling, invoicing, payment processing, and insurance reimbursements. It is a web-based system accessed remotely, with a subscription pricing model and different tiers, plus a pricing calculator and special rates for new practices. The remote-first approach supports round-the-clock service and global team access. The platform differentiates itself by focusing specifically on allied health needs, offering end-to-end practice management in one place, transparent pricing, and strong customer support. The goal is to help healthcare providers work more efficiently and effectively, enabling them to focus more on patient care by simplifying administrative tasks.
