Requirements
  • Cruise is looking for a Technical Product Owner to effectively support a complex portfolio of Legal applications including contract lifecycle management, e-billing and matter management, and e-discovery
  • In this position, you will partner closely with Legal teams to execute legal application strategic roadmaps by converting business requirements into product features while collaborating with other cross-functional technology teams to deliver working Legal software solutions

  • 6+ years of experience with Legal Technology products, preferably SimpleLegal, Onna, OneTrust, and/or IPfolio
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in technical leadership and/or mentorship
  • Bachelor's degree in role-related field required
  • Agile delivery mindset with experience working within either Scrum or Scaled Agile (SAFe) frameworks while using Jira as a work management tool
  • Fundamental understanding of legal processes and related topics
  • Systems-level and operational thinking
  • Superb communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven success working cross-functionally to connect Legal solutions to other enterprise applications, including financial systems (ERPs) and e-payment solutions
  • Ability to prioritize high volume of requests from multiple customers in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
  • Experience structuring data within legal applications to enable both native reporting and dashboards/visualizations from aggregated sources through third-party BI tools
  • Ability to identify key value streams across legal systems and other functional systems and processes to facilitate dependency mapping and data requirement exercises
Responsibilities
  • Acting as the primary IT point-of-contact for Legal Business Product Owners
  • Developing the IT strategic roadmap to support current and future solutions, including resource planning and scope definition
  • Running end-to-end delivery for the Legal Technology portfolio from capturing functional requirements to influencing design to overseeing the technical build and testing activities with key input from your business partners
  • Partnering with Security, Privacy, and Legal to connect e-discovery systems to enterprise technical and business repositories
  • Maintaining a product backlog, inclusive of minor enhancements, tech enablement initiatives, and operational support activities
  • Supporting new software evaluation processes in collaboration with business and engineering counterparts
  • Communicating attainable timelines while considering ongoing, regular system maintenance such as user management, master data updates, and production support
  • Participating in cross-functional critical initiatives to identify impact and assist with inbound / outbound integration of other applications with Legal applications
  • Delivering continuous transformation by identification and design of both system and process improvements
  • Influencing system control design, audit trail / evidence management, and integration across platforms
  • Ensuring systems are regulatory compliant and meets Cruise's security requirements
  • Collaborating with Legal to support team wiki pages, job-aids, and training materials, when needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification, or similar (i.e. SAFe Certified)
  • Passion for solving ambiguous problems by asking questions, seeking clarification, and partnering with relevant team members
  • Customer-centric approach to developing a technology roadmap to continuously deliver value for business functions
  • Experience building contract lifecycle workflows, and integrating separate contracting applications to improve an overall contracting workflow
