Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Experience with civil and military System Safety processes
  • Experience independently executing functional responsibilities for small to medium sized programs
  • Experience applying MIL-STD-882E and/or ARP4761 to the development of systems, hardware, or software
  • Experience with creation of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and System Safety Assessment (SSA)
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative System Safety analysis
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Responsibilities
  • Leading the System Safety effort for aircraft modification programs
  • Performing System Safety analyses
  • Planning the System Safety effort for programs
  • Creating artifacts to show compliance to FAA and military safety regulations
  • Interacting directly with the customer
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to independently execute functional responsibilities for large programs
  • Experience using DO-178 and/or DO-254 for design development
  • Experience developing software System Safety analyses
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo or similar
  • Experience in aircraft systems development
  • Experience writing analyses to meet regulation- or customer-driven requirements
  • Experience tailoring analyses or requirements to fit size, complexity, schedule, and budget of program
  • Received certified System Safety training from APT Research, USC, or similar
