Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering is required.
  • At least five years of related industrial engineering experience are required.
  • Prior experience managing a team is required.
  • Experience completing multi-variable work measurements is required.
  • Experience developing labor standards is required.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives is required.
  • Experience with network optimization projects within a distribution center environment is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% based on company need is required.
  • The position requires availability between 7 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday, with work at any time on any day of the week as needed to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that key engineering duties are fulfilled for the supported area.
  • Answer technical questions and propose project budgets.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Build talent and capabilities within the team in support of customer needs.
  • Collaborate with various departments.
  • Supervise approximately 10 to 15 engineering support staff.
  • Provide day-to-day work direction and conduct formal performance evaluations.
  • Participate in customer and project interviews by leading the manufacturing engineering portion.
  • Assign manufacturing engineering resources to deliver projects within Excellerate.
  • Lead and direct maintenance and tooling for all Excellerate locations.
  • Provide performance evaluations and coaching to team members.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for engineering, modeling, detailing, and computer-aided design services.
  • Provide engineering support for projects and the Operations Engineering team.
  • Manage the capital expenditure process for Excellerate.
  • Prepare and study technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Discuss existing or potential construction and product/manufacturing projects with internal and external customers.
  • Design jigs and fixtures needed for production.
  • Monitor and control project activity to meet budgets and schedules.
  • Build team skills, capabilities, and culture aligned with company core values.
  • Work with production personnel to identify and correct safety issues.
  • Develop and maintain facility layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Justify and procure capital equipment and tooling.
  • Coordinate facility and equipment preventive maintenance programs.
  • Understand applicable government regulations and assure compliance.
  • Assist in developing capacity and contingency plans for Excellerate.
  • Understand assembly and operations and drive improvements in efficiency, safety, delivery, and quality.
  • Drive employee improvement projects and administer business unit and company programs.
  • Develop or optimize processes to meet quality, cost, and efficiency requirements.
