As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in architecting, deploying, and managing our customer’s core platform, ensuring its availability, performance, and security, with the goal of making an impact across the federal government.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a resilient and scalable platform architecture.
  
• Lead the planning, development, and deployment of platform components, services, and applications.
  
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks to optimize platform performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes, enabling rapid and reliable software delivery.
  
• Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively optimize systems for maximum efficiency.
  
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure and orchestration tools to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
  
• Drive security best practices throughout the platform, implementing measures to safeguard data, applications, and services.
  
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the platform stack and provide effective resolutions to minimize downtime.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role.
  
• Extensive expertise in designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and secure platform architectures.
  
• Proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a deep understanding of cloud services and networking.
  
• Strong hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or similar.
  
• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible and demonstrated experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
  
• Solid scripting and programming skills in languages like Python, Go, Ruby, or similar.
  
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc. and excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system issues.
  
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
• An active TS//SCI clearance with CI poly preferred; Active TS//SCI with the ability to pass a CI poly.
  
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or equivalent are a plus.
