The Data Transformation Regulatory Commitment Lead is a leadership position in the Data Product and Program Management organization within Citi’s Chief Data Office (CDO). CDO is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic and regulatory priorities for the firm. The CDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management.
This role is a senior transformation lead accountable for oversight and program management of a key regulatory commitment for Data Transformation that is part of Citi’s OCC Consent Order response. As such, this role provides an exciting opportunity to affect transformative change at Citi involving standardization, automation, and system modernization along with visibility and partnership with senior leaders across the firm. It requires a strong sense of responsibility, ownership, understanding of technology, strategic thinking combined with extreme attention to detail, and experience with regulatory deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish Program Management rigor for in-flight large scale program
- Collaborate with designated commitment owners to track progress, identify challenges and risks, partner to remove impediments
- Partner with stakeholders to define mitigation strategy for at-risk milestones/commitments
- Provide independent challenge and assessment of the execution work again the target state.
- Support creation of Quarterly Progress Report, glidepaths to target state, and other deliverables for senior management and regulators
- Identify alignment and dependency across the Consent Order commitments and facilitate collaboration where feasible.
- Own the creation of appropriate deliverables while managing dependencies
- Gain in-depth understanding of metrics, review and attest monthly metrics results, check and challenge as appropriate
- Partner with Second and Third Line functions (ORM and IA), understand regulatory expectations regarding Data and Technology target state, ensure horizontal alignment across vertical programs towards the overall expectations.
- Present updates to management and data governance forums.
- Improve timeliness in decision making across teams and escalate potential roadblocks, including developing a forward-looking view of critical interdependencies and critical risks, identifying mitigation actions and identifying issues to escalate for Senior Management
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in data governance/data project management experience with strong technology background
- Banking and Financial Services Industry Experience highly preferred
- Experience with large-scale transformation and regulatory projects
- Strong process and project management skills including the ability to manage several large initiatives simultaneously. Detail oriented, analytical.
- Uses broad knowledge and expertise to clearly define complex issues despite incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
- Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels
- Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the “big picture” while paying close attention to detail
- Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them
- Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms
- Proficient with MS Office, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

$144,480.00 - $216,720.00
