Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking a HSEQ Manager to support operations at a major infrastructure client. In this role, you will lead health, safety, environment, and quality initiatives across office and field environments, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining certifications, and driving continuous improvement. With regular site visits across NSW and the ACT, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a strong safety culture π.
This position is ideal for someone stepping up from an advisory role into management, who is proactive, detail-focused, and eager to take ownership of compliance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve HSEQ certifications, policies, and procedures
- Investigate and raise HSEQ incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions
- Conduct site audits and inspections, including fire safety compliance
- Deliver and support training on HSEQ management systems
- Provide reports on compliance and performance indicators
- Support contract transitions and client reporting obligations
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships in a high-profile environment
- Foster a collaborative, vibrant, and safety-first culture
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Experience in OH&S, HSEQ, or compliance roles (all levels encouraged to apply)
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 4801 and ISO 14001
- Proven experience in audits, incident investigation, and reporting
- Exposure to facilities management, construction, or property sectors
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- Trade, environmental, or engineering background
- OH&S Auditor training and/or Diploma in WHS or related discipline
- Experience working across large-scale, multi-site operations
Workplace Flexibility
- Based at Sydney CBD World Square office (4 days office / 1 day WFH)
- Regular travel, with monthly site visits across NSW and ACT
