Job Description Summary
The Treasury Analyst supports the daily cash management operations of Miami University and the Miami University Foundation. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Treasury Services, this role monitors cash activity across bank accounts, credit card transactions, and departmental and student organization deposits. The Analyst performs timely reconciliations, investigates discrepancies, and identifies potential fraud or unauthorized activity. Responsibilities include preparing audit schedules, serving as a liaison to external auditors, and supporting strong internal controls, including PCI compliance. The position collaborates with campus partners to advance cashless initiatives by improving processes, enhancing security, and providing education. Additional duties include reconciling cash clearing accounts, supporting Auxiliary Services, preparing financial analyses for leadership, and serving as backup for Treasury team members. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safeguarding University assets while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Job Description
Performs cash management related tasks for Miami University and the Miami University Foundation.
Monitors the cash activity of the University and Foundation, including all bank accounts and credit card activity (including chargebacks), departmental and student organization deposits.
Reconciles accounts in a timely manner.
Identifies, researches, and corrects transaction errors.
Monitors transaction activity for anomalies, fraud indicators, and unauthorized activity.
Prepares cash related audit schedules, liaisons with external audit team, and responds to auditor inquiries.
Assists with maintaining strong internal controls for various treasury activities, including PCI Compliance.
Works with campus partners to establish and maintain a cashless campus, including educating, streamlining cash processing, and improving efficiency and security.
Stays current with treasury and banking industry trends to achieve continuous improvement.
Reconcile Bank Accounts for Miami University and Miami University Foundation.
Reconcile cash clearing accounts for Auxiliary Services.
Prepare clear, accurate analysis for leadership as needed. Serve as backup for Treasury personnel as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year experience in Treasury, Banking, or related field
Certified Treasury Professional designation
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Accounting tasks including reconciliation tasks and transactions
