Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a relevant field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a public company or public accounting role, showcasing a deep understanding of public company financial operations
  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field and/or CPA certification, with at least 2 years of similar experience mentioned above
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and expertise in accounting operations for public companies, especially research and development accruals and intercompany accounting
  • Proficiency in industry-standard accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and preferably NetSuite accounting system, in alignment with public company financial best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining focus on the broader financial landscape

Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger, adhering to public company standards and regulations. This includes handling research and development accruals, intercompany account reconciliations, and elimination entries
  • Lead the month-end close processes in compliance with public company requirements, accounting for research and development studies, and reviewing various account balances and transactions
  • Ensure strict adherence to GAAP, SOX, and company policies, and assist in preparing financial audits
  • Collaborate with the Business and Finance teams to analyze expense trends and provide valuable insights for decision-making
  • Support the implementation of financial systems and process improvements, focusing on aligning with public company standards and enhancing accounting controls and processes
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, sharing your valuable public company experience and best practices

(Nasdaq: NBIX) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a new share repurchase program under which Neurocrine Biosciences may repurchase up to $500 million of its shares, subject to market conditions.
