Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and four years of experience in a related field, or eight years of experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
  • At least three years of product management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing testable acceptance criteria that engineering and quality assurance can build directly against.
  • Demonstrated ownership of discovery from problem identification through validated solution direction.
  • Experience with application programming interface or event contracts as products, and with capability products whose consumers are other products and teams.
  • Fluency with modern agile delivery in a multi-team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to precisely articulate a problem, tradeoff, and recommendation.
  • Proficiency with artificial intelligence tools integrated into product workflows.
  • A repeatable approach to moving from ambiguity to conviction and evaluating new product ideas.
  • Ability to decompose large, unfamiliar efforts into deliverable slices alongside engineering and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming delivery methods and when to apply each.
  • Ability to distinguish decisions requiring outside discussion from decisions that can be made independently.
  • Ability to measure approval accuracy, verification pass-through, early default, cost per performing loan, and cohort economics.
  • Comfort owning capabilities with models in the decision path, including model versioning, drift, champion and challenger comparison, calibration, vintage curves, and roll rates.
  • Use of artificial intelligence tools in daily product work across discovery, analysis, specification, and prototyping.
  • Ability to own outcomes, meet commitments, and present options when identifying problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical depth to engineering, business and loss impact to leadership, and borrower outcomes to design.
  • Ability to grow knowledge outside the core area, understand broader business direction, identify critical external interfaces, and learn system behavior alongside engineering or quality assurance.
Responsibilities
  • Own underwriting and lead-generation systems, processes, and capabilities from problem discovery through adoption.
  • Write precise, testable Given/When/Then acceptance criteria covering negative, functional, technical, and test considerations before downstream work begins.
  • Maintain a groomed backlog with 40 to 60 percent of the next sprint's stories ready.
  • Break work into increments of fourteen days or less and ensure every story sits under an epic with a measurable goal.
  • Drive story-mapping and journey-mapping sessions and maintain a forward-looking delivery pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain the roadmap for the product area and publish it for team visibility.
  • Understand and explain the end-to-end technical operational flow, including decision travel, external interfaces, and failure behavior.
  • Instrument effectiveness, efficiency, flow, and product health, and capture baselines before launch.
  • Define measurable outcomes for work, challenge initiative value, and prioritize the highest-return initiatives.
  • Track needs from the moment they are voiced through realization of value.
  • Support operational readiness and rollout by preparing internal teams, supporting feature-flagged releases, and gathering adoption signals.
  • Proactively communicate status, risks, and results through demonstrations, documentation, and information radiators.
  • Own decisioning and verification capabilities that combine model scores and rules, maintain stipulation sets and decline reasons, normalize bank verification data, and route outcomes to automatic execution or manual review.
  • Own lead decisioning, scoring, resale, pre-approval, re-application eligibility, cooling-off limits, state limits, vendor-score waterfalls, degradation behavior, lead routing, mapping, and attribution.
  • Write requirements for scoring services and vendor waterfalls, including behavior when scores are stale or unavailable.
  • Ensure every decline has an adverse-action reason traceable to its inputs.
  • Ensure fair-lending exposure in models, rules, and derived features is tested before deployment.
  • Write consent, disclosure, and state-level constraints as requirements and maintain replayable decision paths through an immutable audit trail.
  • Grow into operational readiness, go-to-market, and product-marketing ownership within six to twelve months.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of commercial and technical product management and the differences between them.
  • Experience in a regulated domain such as consumer lending, payments, banking, insurance, or credit and risk.
  • Consumer lending experience involving decisioning, underwriting policy, bank-data or income verification, bureau data, or adverse action.
  • Lead generation, performance marketing, or lead-marketplace experience.
  • Experience with machine learning in the decision path and familiarity with model-risk governance.
  • Experience with multi-tenant, configuration-driven platforms where tenant differences are configuration rather than code.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence in an outcome-traceable story-to-epic-to-initiative structure.
