Requirements
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, or in a job related field of study. Three (3) years of nursing experience, including one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Knowledge of standard software applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
  • Depending on the location, this position may require the incumbent possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, with good driving record.
Responsibilities
  • Administers an effective quality assurance program by monitoring and counseling nurses and support staff, and auditing charts.
  • Makes staff assignments; hires and orientates new staff; monitors time and attendance; and conducts employee performance evaluations.
  • Establishes objectives for programs and develops protocol and appointment systems.
  • Generates various reports as required by the county, state and Centers for Disease Control.
  • Posts, documents and reviews lab test results and communicates problems and discrepancies.
  • Attends and leads departmental and agency meetings.
  • Reviews health literature and keeps staff informed of new and revised issues.
  • Ensures clinic facilities are properly maintained.
  • Plans and participates in research projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
