Shift - Full-time (40hrs/wk), Days

Schedule patients' appointments for various radiology exams including Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath, Fluoroscopy Injections. The scheduler has an integral role in the Imaging department as the primary liaison between MD offices, patients, and the Imaging departments. The scheduler coordinates appointments, manages patient information, ensuring smooth flow throughout the departments. The scheduler also offers clear communication with the healthcare team and patients providing necessary information regarding preparation for Imaging exams and addressing any scheduling concerns. This role must have meticulous organization skills and a patient-focused approach.

Responsibilities:

Schedule patient appointments for various Imaging exams, including Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath, X-rays, ensuring optimal use of radiology department resources.
Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure accurate billing and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to manage daily appointment schedules and accommodate emergency cases.
Provide patients with pre-examination instructions, such as dietary restrictions or clothing requirements, to prepare them for their Imaging procedures.
Handle patient inquiries related to Imaging services, appointment timings, and preparation instructions, offering clear and compassionate communication.
Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling systems with patient appointments, cancellations, and reschedules.
Liaise with referring physicians’ offices to obtain and verify orders for procedures, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order before the appointment.
Manage the coordination of transportation services for patients requiring assistance to and from their Imaging appointments, ensuring accessibility for all patients.
