Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive experience in restaurant or retail technology, including leading technology delivery in a multi-unit environment.
  • At least five years of direct restaurant industry experience with working knowledge of quick-service or fast-casual front-of-house and back-of-house workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with at least two restaurant point-of-sale systems, such as NCR Aloha, PAR Brink, Qu POS, or equivalent enterprise quick-service restaurant platforms, including deployment, configuration, and upgrade management.
  • Experience managing point-of-sale menu configurations across multiple ordering channels, including OLO or equivalent online ordering platforms, delivery service provider integrations, and loyalty program systems.
  • Experience leading or supervising a technology product management function, including product lifecycle management, feature roadmap development, and major system integration planning.
  • Experience leading point-of-sale platform upgrades and multi-site technology deployments in a restaurant or retail environment at a senior level.
  • Experience with back-of-house systems, kitchen automation, self-service kiosks, and/or drive-thru technology platforms.
  • Experience overseeing quality assurance activities for restaurant technology systems, including structured testing, defect management, and pre-deployment validation.
  • Experience managing senior-level vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, service-level agreement oversight, and strategic performance management.
  • Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams in a technology delivery environment and building organizational capability over time.
  • Experience managing technology budgets and capital projects in a multi-unit restaurant or franchise environment.
  • Ability to provide senior-level guidance across product management, menu systems, quality assurance, and deployment functions.
  • Ability to define and resolve complex operational and technology challenges through systematic analysis and evaluation.
  • Ability to align stakeholders across operations, franchise, finance, and technology functions on priorities, investments, and solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of upgrades and new deployments of the enterprise point-of-sale system across corporate and franchise restaurant locations.
  • Oversee support, maintenance, and performance monitoring of point-of-sale and back-of-house systems to maintain high availability and minimize operational disruption.
  • Manage the point-of-sale deployment team and establish deployment standards, timelines, and quality checkpoints.
  • Partner with Operations and Franchise teams to define requirements, validate solutions, and communicate change impacts before system rollouts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for point-of-sale and back-of-house configurations, integrations, and support procedures.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators and service-level agreements for system uptime, incident resolution, and deployment success, and report performance to the Senior Vice President of Technology.
  • Lead and develop the restaurant technology product team through direction, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Oversee product lifecycles, roadmaps, development requirements, feature backlogs, governance, and major integrations across point-of-sale, back-of-house, and in-store technology platforms.
  • Translate business requirements into development needs, user stories, feature specifications, and acceptance criteria for vendor and internal development teams.
  • Partner with technology vendors on product roadmap alignment and anticipate upcoming platform changes.
  • Provide senior leadership and oversight for menu management across point-of-sale, digital, back-of-house, online ordering, delivery service provider, and loyalty platforms.
  • Establish governance and workflows for menu updates, limited-time offers, pricing changes, and regional menu variations.
  • Oversee quality assurance standards, testing frameworks, acceptance criteria, defect management, issue resolution, and post-deployment audits across store technology systems.
  • Lead the evaluation, deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of kitchen automation, self-service kiosk, and mobile drive-thru technologies.
  • Define the restaurant technology enhancement roadmap and pilot solutions that improve operational efficiency and guest experience.
  • Manage restaurant technology vendor relationships, contracts, renewals, procurement, service-level frameworks, business reviews, escalations, due diligence, and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Manage and develop team members across product management, menu management, quality assurance, and point-of-sale deployment.
  • Build the restaurant technology organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
  • Establish performance expectations, development plans, and succession strategies across the organization.
  • Direct external implementation partners, consultants, and managed service providers to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Establish and manage annual operating, project, and vendor budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Serve as the primary technology liaison for restaurant operations, senior leadership, and franchise partners.
  • Develop and maintain a restaurant technology governance framework for standards, change control, and risk management.
  • Facilitate cross-functional steering sessions and working groups to align priorities and resolve stakeholder conflicts.
  • Communicate upcoming system changes, maintenance windows, and capability rollouts to corporate and franchise partners.
