The role

The Talent & Performance Operations team are responsible for how Google DeepMinders experience and interact with our performance processes, that are designed to be development focussed and build a performance mentality that will help us achieve our mission. The team focuses on the smooth delivery and the continuous improvement of the performance processes that impact everyone at Google DeepMind. Additionally they are passionate about analysing data and generating insights to help  leaders make intentional decisions about  driving performance in their teams. Collaborating with other teams within People & Culture, and managers and leads across the organisation, this is a great opportunity to demonstrate knowledge of how performance processes are a critical component of P&C Strategy that develops the culture and environment that enables the advancement of AI research.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to and ensure the smooth delivery of our key performance processes including performance evaluation and promotion. 
• Analyse and manipulate data, creating rich and actionable insights for senior stakeholders, including mapping trends over time.
• Establish an efficient insight generation process and templates to be leveraged in future.
• Engage with stakeholders of all levels of seniority and disciplines to understand their goals and focus areas to tailor our insights and processes.
• Conduct DE&I analysis on Google DeepMind’s performance processes and prepare relevant documentation for stakeholders
• Proactively identify opportunities and solutions to optimise our process operations and insights, with a focus on efficiency and impact.
• Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team, particularly P&C Analytics team.
• Anticipate problems and identify solutions, using your judgement and discretion to determine and plan the next steps of your work.
• Be adept at using the tools that facilitate our processes.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Talent & Performance Operations Partner at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

• You are highly proficient in data analysis, including strong skills in excel/google sheets and are at least familiar with SQL.
• You are able to derive robust insights from data and develop compelling stories for stakeholders. 
• You have experience of operating within a HR team, advising on and delivering HR processes.
• You have experience in operationalising processes, change and continuous improvement.
• You have previously worked with software tools that support HR processes
• You pride yourself on attention to detail and use techniques to make sure important information is accurate
• You are comfortable working to project plans with set timeframes.
• You are able to build solid relationships with people quickly; you put them at ease and create understanding. You enjoy spending time with people and have a high sense of empathy.
• Being extremely organised, you are used to working at pace and balancing many different tasks. You are proactive and see what needs to be done.
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy changeable environments where you can implement creative and innovative ideas.
• You like operating independently but also love being part of a highly encouraging and collaborative team. You share information and support the growth and development of others in your team and understand that succeed or fail, we do so as a team.
