Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Hold a current Indiana license as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
  • Be able to read and write in English and communicate with residents, families, personnel, and support agencies.
  • Be able to remain calm under stress.
  • Be able to bend, lift, walk, grasp, perform fine hand coordination, distinguish smells, tastes, and temperatures, and hear and respond to pages.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct supervision of resident care activities performed within the facility on a twenty-four-hour basis.
  • Assist with coordinating nursing service activities with facility administration, community agencies, physicians, and families.
  • Assist with nursing service compliance with facility policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations under the direction of the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
  • Assist with developing and implementing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
  • Assist with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, directing, and managing the nursing services department under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Assist with planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining resident discharge procedures and plans.
  • Participate in interviewing and screening residents for admission to the facility.
  • Assist with promptly notifying each resident’s attending physician and family or responsible party of significant changes in the resident’s health status.
  • Assist with developing work assignments for nursing services personnel based on residents’ specific nursing care needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience or training in nursing services administration, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing.
  • One or more years of demonstrated ability in nursing administration and/or supervision in a health facility.
