Requirements
  • BA/BS in business, insurance, risk management or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience; high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of six years of claims experience and three years of casualty experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assigned as owning adjuster when injury exposure is identified.
  • May handle the following types of claims: Complex 1st and 3rd party auto, homeowners and watercraft cases involving injury, 1st party Medical Payment and Uninsured Motorists claims including ADB (Auto Death Benefit) claims, Liability injury claims, Personal Injury/Property claims, Litigated claims, Personal Injury Protection, and out-of-state claims.
  • Make coverage determinations and let customers know the appropriate course of action related to coverage issues.
  • Conduct investigative work of a complicated nature, which may include interviewing witnesses, acquiring and analyzing evidence (including medical records), deciding whether an independent medical examination is warranted, etc.
  • Make liability determinations.
  • Evaluate the potential for subrogation and initiating an initial notice of subrogation request.
Desired Qualifications
  • Developing knowledge of litigation file handling for minor, moderate, and complex litigated claims.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding decision-making ability and customer service orientation.
  • Detailed understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements and CSAA IG claims policies and procedures.
  • Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.
  • Bilingual a plus!
