We are seeking a Vice President to join our Risk Management Commercial Lines Department in our New York City office.
Functions & Responsibilities:
- Service and monitor accounts and disseminate account activity
- Market renewals and new business as well as collaborate with the marketing department
- Evaluate existing coverages and make recommendations as needed. Round out accounts as opportunities arise
- Negotiate with Underwriters to provide the best possible coverage and rates according to underwriting guidelines
- Receive, review and forward invoices, policies, endorsements and other documents as necessary
- Market specialized coverages as needed
- Authorize the release of Certificates of Insurance, Accord Binders, and Placement Requests
- Review and audit policies for compliance with internal procedures and in accordance with binders specification
- Prepare proposals for clients and potential clients
- Visit clients as necessary to ensure client satisfaction
- Conduct online meetings with clients if in person meetings are not possible
- Attend staff and Account Executive meetings
- Apply (basic) proficiency of loss analysis, SIRs, Retrospective Rating/loss sensitive plans on account activity as needed
- Assure proper disposition of items on expiration lists
- Participate in new business strategies meetings and presentation
- Provide training to junior staff, where needed
- Collaborate with unit staff
Experience and Skills Required:
- A minimum of 7-10 years related experience
- Valid P&C License
- Experience with servicing middle market and large accounts
- Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and carriers
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Ability to travel as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of EPIC (ideal)
The expected pay range for this position is $200,000 a year to $210,000 a year and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
