Requirements
  • 3 or more years of clinical documentation review experience preferred
  • Hospital based specialty billing experience preferred
  • Experience with MIPS or similar payer quality programs preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Flexible mentality; willing and capable of performing varied tasks and adapting to change
  • Must be energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated with the entrepreneurial spirit
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Professionally exercises discretion and independent judgment in day-to-day work
  • Attentive to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
  • Monitors for changes to annual measure coding and documentation requirements
  • Works closely with production coding to ensure appropriate quality reporting levels are maintained for all applicable clients in all specialties
  • Works with software developers to update quality metrics and MIPS Performance Dashboard metrics
  • Consistently monitors MIPS reporting and performance on the MIPS Performance dashboard
  • Work with managers, and clients as applicable to finalize, track and submit annual data to MIPS Registries
  • Provide clinical documentation improvement education by reviewing samples of reports and clinical documentation
  • Assists in development and distribution of MIPS documentation material and provide coding and documentation feedback
  • Guide appropriate Quality Measure selection along with other category requirements to enable optimum performance
  • Assist in development and implementation of MIPS measure coding guidelines
  • Assure MIPS coding quality standards through consistent auditing of MIPS coding accuracy
  • Respond to MIPS and Quality Program related questions from staff with appropriate responses provided in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in professional development activities including maintenance of coding certifications
  • Maintain industry expertise regarding guidelines, rules, regulations, and continue to grow professional skills in necessary areas
  • Work closely with other team members and departments and communicate with the Director regarding projects and assignments
