Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in a related field is required.
  • Two years of relevant research or academic experience are required.
  • The role requires sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform essential functions affecting patient or employee safety or security.
  • The role requires the ability to operate laboratory and/or computer equipment and perform assigned research procedures safely.
  • The role may require position-specific licenses or certifications as specified in an addendum.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical research support in a laboratory or office environment under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator.
  • Assist scientists independently and collaboratively with investigative procedures.
  • Perform biological assays, imaging experiments, quantitative and qualitative analyses, and other technical research duties.
  • Work with animal models and/or human subjects when required by the position.
  • Follow technical instructions when setting up and conducting experiments.
  • Operate laboratory and computer equipment.
  • Tabulate inventory and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators and research team members to provide consistent research collection.
  • Maintain records of tests performed and data collected.
  • Make minor modifications or repairs to laboratory equipment when assigned to a laboratory position.
  • Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with department safety initiatives, standards of practice, and protocols.
  • Provide data and figures for manuscripts and grants.
  • Participate in developing or establishing new laboratory and department procedures.
  • Manage time and prioritize daily tasks independently.
