  • You have 7+ years of experience in tax, finance (including accounting), consulting, or related experience
  • Experience with Indirect Taxes in the US and familiarity with other Countries' Indirect Tax regimes
  • Experience with the use of Alteryx, SQL, Snowflake, JIRA and other technologies
  • Hands on experience creating data management and reporting solutions for tax
  • Hands on experience implementing and configuring Vertex O Series, premise and/or on demand based, application
  • Project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates
  • You have a proven track record of successfully partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to solve problems and execute initiatives in a fast-moving environment
  • You roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to drive results, even if it's outside your normal areas of focus
  • You have a strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to provide clear advice in a dynamic environment
  • Actively partner with a variety of DoorDash teams focused on New Business Verticals, including product, engineering, legal, accounting, and finance on new products, initiatives, and expansions of existing products
  • Ensure that our tax systems can support the optimal tax strategy for best serving our New Business Verticals internal and external partners (including merchants and customers)
  • Operate at the lowest level of detail, diving into all things that directly or indirectly impact tax in DoorDash's New Business Verticals, in order to make sure our tax systems can help unlock and grow the business
  • Communicate with stakeholders at all levels on project plans and important issues
  • Partner with and manage external advisors as necessary
  • Identify indirect tax system data needs for new business launches and define requirements
  • Identify and apply best practices for tax systems, processes and reporting strategies
  • Design and implementation of tax systems and identify their downstream impact on data and reporting
  • Support and design analytical tools to meet indirect tax compliance needs
  • Create and manage mechanisms to ensure data integrity
  • Partner with our Income Tax professionals to understand their data needs
  • Design solutions to meet income and other tax reporting requirements
  • Support our internal business partners with tax data related questions
  • Interface with our Business Intelligence team on data solutions for tax
  • Prepare documentation related to our indirect tax data management systems and processes
  • Mentor professionals on the tax team
  • Participate in the hiring process
Desired Qualifications
  • Broad technical tax background is a plus
  • High-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus
  • Grocery or retail experience is a plus
