The Role: Smith-Blair, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Quality Control Inspector to join their Quality Control team in Texarkana, Arkansas. This position is responsible for performing basic quality control inspections for manufacturing and returned products. This includes products and vendor first article inspections.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Capable of utilizing and correctly selecting measurement equipment from tape measures to CMM’s.
- Performs dimensional analysis on vendor samples and reports nonconformance issues to vendors.
- Manages the RMA process and customer returns.
- Maintains Problem Detail Reports and provides quality trend information to the Q.C. manager and engineering department.
- Provides monthly quality reports explaining quality trends including PPM calculations when the Q.C. manager is unavailable.
- Coordinates returned product testing with Test Engineer(s).
- Performs dimensional and material analysis on competitive products.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
- Carry out special assignments as required by the Engineering Manager and/or QC Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certifications
- High School diploma; associates or bachelor’s degree desired or equivalent applicable work experience; 3-5 years quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment highly desired.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook)
- Must have good and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude highly desired.

- Light to moderate lifting (25-35 lbs.), office and industrial manufacturing environment.

- Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.
- Manufacturing floor: work performed within manufacturing production areas such as assembly lines, fabrication, welding, etc.
- Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours
- Work hours may keep individual after hours or be required to work weekends based on production demand and schedule.
