Together, these investment and trade opportunities represent an estimated $7 billion in U.S.-Cameroon commercial activity and demonstrate growing private-sector interest in the Cameroonian market YAOUNDE, Cameroon, August 29, 2026/APO Group/ - On August 27, officials announced approximately $7 billion USD (nearly 4 trillion CFA) in new and expanding American investment and trade opportunities at various stages of development during the inaugural U.S.-Cameroon Bilateral Economic and Commercial Dialogue. These opportunities span sectors including technology, critical minerals, infrastructure, energy, forestry, and logistics. The two sides also discussed ways to further improve Cameroon's business climate for U.S. investors, including taxation, shipping and logistics, and mining sector reform. They also agreed to establish joint working groups to institutionalize the Dialogue and drive continued progress on shared economic priorities and will continue this work ahead of the next Dialogue, which the United States will host in 2027. These announcements underscore the depth and growing momentum of the U.S.-Cameroon commercial partnership. In the critical minerals sector, the U.S.-Australia partnership between Connecticut-based Tronox and Australia-based Lion Rock is advancing a $500 million rutile project, while ARM - a Washington D.C.-headquartered critical minerals development company, is in discussions to develop a cobalt-nickel-manganese project in Nkamouna, beginning with an initial investment of approximately $85 million. Major infrastructure and energy projects are also advancing. Illinois-based A. Taylor Guitars names Geoff Smith as CFO. Geoff Smith Taylor Guitars has appointed of Geoff Smith as chief financial officer. Smith previously served as the company's Controller and brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience across manufacturing, technology and consulting organizations. As chief financial officer, Smith oversees the global financial strategy and operations of Taylor Guitars, supporting the company's long-term vision while helping preserve the values, craftsmanship and culture that define the brand. He works closely with CEO, president and chief guitar designer Andy Powers and Taylor's executive leadership team to guide financial planning, operational strategy and sustainable growth across the organization. Smith has held senior finance and accounting leadership roles across multiple industries. Earlier in his career, he served as controller for Fadal Machining Centers, a manufacturer of CNC machining centers widely used in precision manufacturing, including equipment that has long played an important role in Taylor Guitars' production processes. He later served as director of accounting at a division of Motorola Solutions and has led financial strategy and operational initiatives involving mergers and acquisitions, ERP integrations, global costing systems and process improvement.
