What You Will Contribute To Altos

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM) specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both single-particle cryoEM and cryo-focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (cryo FIB-SEM).

Responsibilities:

Perform sample preparation for both single-particle cryoEM and cryo FIB-SEM.
Operate and maintain cryoEM equipment.
Collect single-particle tomographic datasets.
Collaborate with other scientists to design and execute experiments.
Analyze and interpret cryoEM data.
Train and mentor junior staff and scientists in cryoEM techniques.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the cryoEM field.
Extensive experience with sample preparation for both single-particle cryoEM and cryo FIB-SEM.
Familiarity with state-of-the-art software packages including cryoSPARC and Relion.
Current working knowledge of the software and hardware developments in cryoEM, and limitations of the technique.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The salary range for Redwood City:

Research Specialist I: $136,850 - $185,150
Research Specialist II: $162,350 - $219,650

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
