Responsibilities
  • Providing support to the patient care team assisting in medication dispensing.
  • Restocks clinical unit automated medication dispensing station by visiting assigned patient.
  • Prepares I.V. antibiotics and compound admixtures by injecting medications into large volume solutions under the direction of the pharmacist.
  • Delivers medication to patient unit and Winchester Hospital locations that is not stocked in the automated medication dispensing station.
  • Assists pharmacist in answering phone calls from clinicians as it pertains to patient medication requests.
  • Replaces Pyxis station narcotic stock on patient care units on a daily basis and obtains proper sign off from clinicians on the unit.
  • Assembles code cart trays with required medications and returns to specific patient unit promptly.
  • Prepares pre-package stock medication, cream and ointment into individual doses for distribution to patients.
